🎮Agentic Steam

How to use Agentic Steam

A quick tour of what you can ask, and what the agent can do for you.

Getting started

  1. 1

Tell us who you are on Steam

On the home page, paste any Steam identifier you have on hand — your full profile URL, your custom vanity name, your 17-digit SteamID64, or even the legacy SteamID2 / SteamID3 formats. Use the format slider above the input to pick the type, or leave it on “Auto” and we’ll detect it.

  2. 2

Make sure your Steam profile is public

We use the Steam Web API to read your library, playtime, wishlist, and friends — that data is only visible if your profile (and the relevant sub-sections like Game Details and Friends) is set to public. You can toggle this in Steam → Profile → Edit Profile → Privacy Settings.

  3. 3

    Ask away

Type a question or click any of the suggested prompts under the input. The agent will call Steam tools as needed, sometimes with a chart, and reply in seconds. Free tier uses gpt-5.4-mini; Pro tier upgrades long-form analysis to gpt-5.4.

What you can ask

Six broad capability areas. Mix and match — natural-language questions work best.

Library insights

Anything about the games you already own and how you play them.

  • What are my top 5 most-played games?
  • Which games do I own but never finished?
  • Summarise my last 2 weeks of playtime.
  • What genres dominate my library?
  • How many achievements am I missing in Hades?

Recommendations

Pick something to play right now, or discover something new.

  • What should I play tonight in under an hour?
  • Pick something cozy from my library.
  • Recommend 3 games similar to my most-played title.
  • What’s a hidden gem I’d probably love based on my taste?
  • Show highly-rated indie roguelikes I don’t already own.

Buying advice & deals

Wishlist analysis, current pricing, review trends.

  • Is Cyberpunk 2077 worth buying right now?
  • Show my wishlist sorted by biggest discount.
  • Anything on my wishlist under $20 with great recent reviews?
  • How does Baldur’s Gate 3 review now vs. at launch?

Charts & visualisations

Ask for a graph, plot, or visualisation. The agent renders Vega-Lite charts inline.

  • Show a bar chart of my top 10 games by total hours.
  • Plot my last 2 weeks of playtime by game.
  • Chart the genre breakdown of my library by hours played.
  • Visualise my playtime trend over the last month.

News & updates

Patch notes, DLC, events, and what’s changed in a game lately.

  • What’s in the latest patch for Helldivers 2?
  • Has there been any news about Starfield in the last month?
  • Did Cyberpunk 2077 get any major DLC recently?

Friends & co-op

Things involving the people you play with.

  • What multiplayer games do my friends and I both own?
  • Build me a 4-game co-op night under $40 for me + 3 friends.
  • Who’s online and what are they playing?

Tips for better answers

  • Be specific — “under an hour, single-player, story-driven” beats “something fun.”
  • Ask follow-ups in the same conversation. The agent has the full thread context.
  • For trends or anything “over time,” you'll need at least a couple of days of history. We start collecting daily snapshots the first time you chat.
  • Switch to Pro tier (top of the chat panel) for long-form analysis or multi-game comparisons.

FAQ

Do you store my Steam data?

We cache short-lived Steam responses (10 min – 6 h) in Redis to keep things fast. We also write daily playtime snapshots so you can ask questions about trends over time. We never store your personal info or share data with third parties.

Why does the agent say my profile is private?

Steam returns no data when your profile, game details, or friends list is set to private. Open Steam → Profile → Edit Profile → Privacy Settings and set the sections you care about to “Public.” Re-paste your ID and try again.

How accurate is the data?

Library, playtime, wishlist, and friends come live from the Steam Web API. Achievements come from Steam stats. Reviews are pulled per game on demand. There may be a few minutes of delay due to short-term caching.

What’s the difference between Free and Pro?

Free tier uses gpt-5.4-mini for every reply. Pro tier upgrades the model to gpt-5.4 for long-form analyses (deep reviews, multi-game comparisons), while keeping gpt-5.4-mini for short answers.
